Default Speedometer

I have a 2008 ultra and riding with a friend my speedometer shows 2mph fast so I checked the speedomter with a gps and yes it is off by 2mph. Now is there a adjustment for this or live with it? Thanks

Do you have the correct tire size?

If you have a Power Vision tuner, you can fix it. Some other brands too maybe.

Personally I wouldn't trust the GPS. Every GPS i've ever owned said I was running 2 mph fast. Didn't matter if I was on bike, truck, car or whatever. I'm pretty sure every vehicle I've ever owned wasn't 2 mph fast. Just don't worry about it.

just look at it as a buffer. if your speedo says you're doing 7mph fast, you're really doing 5mph over the speed limit and that just might make the difference between enjoying your ride, and getting a ticket.....

A more accurate way to see your actual speed are those speed limit signs with radar readouts. I don't know if you have them where you are, but that's what I used to recalibrate my speedo after changing the sprocket and the rear tire which was a bit taller than stock. My tuner software lets me change it.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. My speedo is off by .07mph. You should take yours to the dealer and let me know what they say so I know what to do about mine.
