I have pushed the Commanders to their limits, at least vor what you can do on the streets. I love them and will be getting them as my next set of tires as well without a doubt. As far as total mileage claim of 25K on the rear...not gonna make it on my Dyna. If I get half that I'll be satisfied.

Not really to be quite honest or I wouldnt have posted about my experience. Ive been riding again for the last four years or so with nearly 60k miles so, Ive been through several new tires in that timeframe and never experienced what I did today.
I wasnt trying to be Captain Obvious in my post, but I had never heard about this tire break in period. Thought I might just pass it along for others to benefit from my near misfortune.
Maybe you hit a bit of diesel, when I had the Commander II fitted to the rear it was pretty grippy straight off, now after a couple of thousand it is very sticky even in the wet.

That release compound is slick, but usually within about 50 miles all is good. Of course, if that 50 miles is all straight line, the contact patches while cornering may still be a bit slick. After getting mine, I must have looked like a nascar driver during a yellow flag lap. I was all over my lane scuffing up as much of the tire as possible. No problems at all with them. They corner great.
