muffler heat shield
Anyone know of someone that makes or can make an exhaust heat shield for a Vance and Hines Muffler? I recently had entire exhaust powder coated gloss black and everything is fine except the right side muffler is starting to fade where it connects to the head pipe. Nothing major, just starting to turn flat black, gloss is fading. I am looking for a tapered shield about 3-4 inches long. Just want to cover the beveled area to where it connects to head pipe. Head pipe heat shileds start there and they are working fine. I have searched online and cant find anything that will work. I did find some custome made ones on ebay, but they were bought as bulk from a guy that went out of business. I know it can be done, just have to find the right person. Finish is not important, I will have it powder coated black. Any help would be appreciated.

Try a muffler shop (Midas for instance). The have adapter pipes that will connect between to different diameter size pipes. Get the right size, cut a lengthwise section out of it and tack in some tangs for the hose clamp(s) that hold it in place.
