Used to be the Daytona Carbon Fiber owned the title of smallest/lightest DOT. Can anyone tell me how it compares to these Ultra Slim/Lows?
I have both. Just got the outlaw and it looks so much smaller than the Daytona. The outlaw looks like a novelty helmet. It probably does not afford as much protection as the newer dot helmets and that is probably why it is no longer on the list. But it gives you much more protection than the novelty helmets.
I think it is a great compromise and plan on using it all the time instead of my novelty helmets. Just makes sense.
The daytona wasn't bad but if you look in the mirror it still gives you mushroom head. The outlaw is awesome
Just got my second Outlaw ultra slim and man am I liking these! I bought a Medium but it seemed just a tad loose (nothing a 'do rag' wouldn't fix) but for $39 I just went ahead and got a small too. Fits perfect. The small seems to be the same shell as the medium, just a tad more foam in the side. Couldn't be happier.
Here's one next to my Fulmer half. The Fulmer was the smallest I could find previously, but looks (and felt) HUGE next to the Outlaw.
Now, of course, these won't give you the same amount of protection but they're a good compromise between a novelty (or nothing) and a full size mushroom dome.
These are selling out FAST, so I grabbed this one and plan to just sand off the scull graphic and repaint (leaving the DOT on the back)
There are a couple guys selling what's left of them on eBay right now.....black and red carbon fiber ones. Of course, price is 85 bucks now plus shipping. Snooze you lose, and not getting them when they were avilable is now a 50 dollar mistake.
I just bought another...a black carbon fiber one. L and XL are still on eBay, just a few left. Being military, I need that DOT under clear on the back.
Once these are gone, they are gone for good.
The one I am wearing is new, and now I have 2 new ones to go in the closet. That will cover me for life, or at least until I'm done with the service once and for all.
These are the most comfortable and lightest helmets I have ever seen.
I have a rather narrow head and I curious to know if this will fit me?
If it helps for comparison, I wear an Arai Signet Q.
I already doubt it but do you think it's possible to heat it up and bend into a better shape?
