I remember chasing a bike that passed a group of us on our way to sturgis,I was intersted why it ran so good and later caught up with the guy and set in his trailer with him and discussed his bike.Ended up being not a lot more than nitrous, that trip I realized not only did it make the bike run good but it smelled good to.Now it doesnt smell very good but still makes crazy power .If you do it expect some carnage becuase its addicting and can be hard on parts
believe it or not, my brothers RG has a supercharger on it. unfortunately, it takes a while for him to make some real power.
best bang for the buck is bigger displacement, cams, and a good solid tune
I built a Shovelhead awhile back, with a cheapo junkyard turbo from a subaru (very small IHI turbo) and some minor welding fabrication. You can set up your carb to be blown through, or you can suck the fuel through the turbo, on the inlet side, which is what I did.
I was only running 5psi, but holy hell did that thing make power, and quick too, the lag was only about .5 a second.
I ran it hard, until it needed rebuilt and sold it for $5000. I'm seriously thinking of doing it to my Softail now.
**** the haters, go for it. A couple friends of mine have spray and air shifters on their street bikes. we all enjoy drag racing at the track too, but they still use spray on the street. one guy has it wired to his horn...so at WOT you hear BEEP and off he goes
Now, IF and WHEN it blows up, build it into a 106 with cams.
How many motors did your buds burn down before they got their systems right?
The OP knows zero about nitrous except that it makes power. A pretty lethal combo, motor-wise. He'll likely burn his motor down the very first time he hits the button.

Pretty lousy advice to give to a beginner, man.
What HE said ^
I clicked on the link & read the ad--says can ad up to 80 HP to your motor. NOW--imagine what an additional 80 HP will do to your unstressed motor--you'll find pieces of your crankcase in the next county!

whatever man, if you wanna run nitrous, you gotta pay to play. and they never burned motors up, its a lot easier than people think. you just dont go 150 horse jets on a stock harley. jesus, what happened to the biker community trying to push the envelope? you guys like your safety net? and think about it - stock harley making 60 horses...you do some motor work and add 50 to that. nitrous is at WOT, not off the line.
dickey i know youve been around a long time. im sure people said the Angels were crazy for raking their bikes out that far, but they did it and rode the **** out of them.
not everyone wants a stock bike.

It all fits into the extended warranty crew---------------------the ones that are worried about prepaying for their next 3 sets of tires.I would hope that anyone even looking at nitrous or even a bigger cam with a tune would arm them selves with lots of info and find expertise with a credit card before they stepped into this arena in the first place
I was riding today and I came up next to a nice Dyna. I didnt downshift far enough and he kept pulling away. I thought, "i need nitrous". Just a little bit. So i looked around and found http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store...?idproduct=289.
Its a dry kit that adds from 15 to 40 HP depending on the jets. I was wondering if my bike can handle it. Its a stock 96CI with drag pipes, air stage one aircleaner and computer. I thought it would be cool to have a sleeper and just dust em.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Ride safe and fast...
One of the problems resulting from N20 is the tendency to overuse it once you have it. So if your motor is marginal and you cant restrain yourself, forget it.
Although welding cranks and **** has been mentioned in here, you should know that N02 allows a much denser charge into the cylinder and dramatically increases cylinder pressures. This increased pressure and resultant increased temperature can melt or warp pistons and heads and melt valves. So be ready for this if you throw this stuff into your motor and cant keep your finger off the blast button.
As mentioned in here, make your motor more consistant and responsive by performance upgrades that are more solid first... cams.. headwork.. etc
