RE: Would you ever allow anyone else to drive your bike?
If he's my friend (or she for that matter) and I would ride with him or her, then yes, if a need arose I would certainly let them ride my bike. It's just a thing. A pretty thing to be sure, but still a thing.
RE: Would you ever allow anyone else to drive your bike?
NO WAY Jose!!![:@] A friend of mine bought a bike [Harley], so, his stepbrother comes up to look at it, buddy starts the bike, step dummy grabs a hand full of throttle and revs it right to the MAX about 4-5 times. I don't even want anyone sitting on it, BUY YOUR OWN!
RE: Would you ever allow anyone else to drive your bike?
In 22 years, I've only done this three times. The first time was to one of my closest friends. He was between bikes, but he and the wife wanted to take a boot to Banff for the day. He called to see if he could borrow my bike for the day, if I wasn't using it, and I replied, "Sorry man, I don't lend my bike." He replied with, "Hey **shole...I'm the onewho taught you how to ride!!" He brought it back in one piece! LOLI let another buddy of mine take my Gold Wing for a boot (we were out fora ride together, and I knew he was itching to try it...), hoping to get him to make the leap for a new bike. (This was about 4 years ago, and he's STILL riding the same CB500!!) No go, but again, a good friend, good rider, and the bike was returned in one piece. The third and most recent time was when a fellow instructor (was a safety instructor fm 00 - 05 with the Safety Council for the city I lived in at the time...) asked if we could switch bikes. He had an SV650, and the wife was keen for a sport bike at the time. He was flirting with going to a rolling couch. If I couldn't trust a fellow safety instructor, who could I trust?? Now that I have a Fat Boy?? I don't know. This same buddy who taught me to ride is looking at buy a Hog this spring, and may request a test drive. I don't think I can turn him down. After all...he taught me how to ride!
RE: Would you ever allow anyone else to drive your bike?
I have two buddies that I've swapped rides with. We swap and I get to ride either a Buell, Ducati or BMW.All nice bikes but after about a half hour I get back on my own and am reminded that I made the right choice.
RE: Would you ever allow anyone else to drive your bike?
I did let a lady I work with ride mine and she took a nasty spill. Cost me about $3,000 to fix the bike, but most of the parts were items I planned on getting anyway. This just sped up the process of getting the mods I wanted anyway. I was far more concerned about her injuries than the bikes. I would let her ride it again, but so far she has not wanted to. She got her own 883 Low last June.

C'mon Guys.......It's just steel,glass,rubber, and plastic.....of course I let other people ride it.When I was younger I had a "no touch" policy........but I got over it.
Dick........ Oh....and aluminum too
Maybe to you Dick...but to some of us it's a whole helluva lot more than just steel, glass, rubber and plastic.

RE: Would you ever allow anyone else to drive your bike?
Actually, when we got our bike in December we had a friend drive it home for us rather than someone from the dealership. I would much rather have had my best friends *** "break the seal" on my bike than someone I didn't know. I'd let him drive it anytime he wanted....of course he'd have to share his Fat Boy with us.
