Default Road king winter stand.

FIRST,MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
I put the road king up in the air yesterday.
She on a autozone motorcycle lift.
She's a little rockie but going for tie downs today.
Has anybody else have any story's either good or bad about lifts.

Thanks for the holiday thoughts and the same to you.
You already have your lift and your bike on it, so that looks like you're doing what you want to for the winter. I've never had a lift, started riding before there were none for home use. I've stored all kinds of bikes on the cold ground, sometimes just covered without even the luxury of a garage. I've never had a problem doing that, the worst thing was riding a few miles to get rid of flat spots on the tires. I'm sure you'll be fine, that's just been my experience.

The flat spots will come out. I haven't experienced flat spots in many many years with the newer tire compounds, but others have. As mentioned, they will come out after a few miles of riding if you do end up with them. I store my bike on a rubber cow mat. In Vermont our bikes are stored for up to 7 months, and I've yet to have flat spots on my later model bikes. It could be because I roll it out of its corner periodically to work on her throughout the winter?

Over the last few years I've had different bikes sitting between 12 to 17 months without them being moved. No issues with flat spots EVER. Don't know how these rumors come up but honest, a few months sitting is not going to damage your tires.

IMHO there is no reason to store a bike on a lift--it is an accident waiting to happen.

Bingo dickey! I think that every time I read one of these threads but have never felt like watching an opinion thread grow to 200 nonsense posts.

I can think of one...to gain more room in ones garage...I use a lift just to get it up right...wheels are still on the ground....been doing that way for years.

Exactly. They have a smaller footprint when upright. Also easier to move while on a jack if needed.
