Just a suggestion. Join a local HOG Chapter. Ray Price there in Raleigh has a great chapter. We bought our first Harley back in 2008 and joined the local chapter at Tilley's in Statesville. It has really really been run for us. We learned a lot about safety,group riding and have made dozens of rides now to places we would have never found on our own. The best part is the special friendships we have made with couples that we enjoy riding with. I'm the newly elected director of our chapter for 2013 and would like to welcome anyone in our area to come and check it out.

The Southern Cruisers around Raleigh ride quite a bite...Skootch a member here is 2nd officer...they do a lot of day rides to Va and other location...

I live in Clayton too off Goverment RD, Shoot me a PM and we can go for a ride or Im at Hidies 2 wheel Cafe off 70 just befor smithfield. Every Thursday night for a few beers Riding unless its realy cold and wet. Ride with all types and bikes from Harley to metric from new riders to old hands. Come swing by!

Cary area here. We all need to hook up sometime. I'm down for about another month due to recent shoulder surgery but maybe we can all meet at Locked & Loaded in Garner one Saturday or Sunday afternoons. Then maybe a spring trip to the Maggie Valley.

Hi all. I bought my first Harley in October and have put 1800mi on it to get my feet wet after not riding since the early 90s. I'm in the Raleigh, NC area (just east actually) and am wondering if anyone local would be interesting in riding.
I am really enjoying the bike but would love to double (or more) my visibility. If anyone in the area is interested in taking a ride for lunch or something let me know, thanks!

ray Price HD, Shelton's Durham, and Rocky Mount HD all have HOG chapters. good folks and are very active.
Southern Cruisers Riding Club, has a Johnston County chapter (#222) great folks if you like to ride....(more chapters in Raleigh, Fuquay, Sanford, Fayetteville, Goldsboro and many other locations)
The CMA is very active, both as riders, and as ministers
ABATE/CBA in Raleigh are active in politics, but not so much in group rides... but great people, and they do have several "history tours" each summer
and of course there are a dozen or so groups on "meetup.com"
It's all a matter of what YOU like... there are plenty of groups that like to hang out at the local watering hole, folks that ride 3 states away, to check out a new dairy queen, and everything in between
lots of options,every group I've mentioned up... if you have resevations (and you should) contact the group, and audit a ride, and/or a meeting... before you join.
SCRC is having it's annual 1/1 lunch ride to Asheboro on the first... rain OR shine... as well as the annual "frostbite ride" to Dunn, on 1/19. Not sure is there is any other group scheduling a ride currently
