ENOUGH TALK ABOUT THE SNOW, OK

Just kidding of course. Thanks for all the replies and advice. Got some great ideas for rides to take. I know it's not going to be very warm, especially in the morning and evening. My main objective is to get out of the wet, Northwest winter for a couple of months. Don't mind riding in the cold but don't like riding in the wet. Gerbing has me covered from neck to toe so not worried about the chill. I figured I might have a challenge with snow going to Sonoma or North of there but didn't realize that there are a lot of areas further south that could have snow like Globe or Mt. Lemmon. I think I'll wait until the end of February to do my Sedona trip. Looks like I might spend quite a bit of time South of Tucson. Maybe take a ride to San Diego if I feel like I need to warm up.
Thanks again.

Oh, yeah. I WILL check my boots for scorpions (thanks for the warning) and I WON'T sell my golf clubs.

Never said 70 up on the rim. Globe is a heck of a lot lower than the rim.
I have riden all over Az in all different seasons. It's hit and miss. You can ride anywhere on the right day. (I did mention to check the weather before he climbs up the Zane Grey Hwy, which is the only time he would be technically be above the rim on the routes I suggested).
Not to split hairs, but you said "last winter all of AZ was pretty much 70+ all winter long."

There is a large part of the state that won't see 70+ for a few months. I just didn't want to mislead the original poster. Hell, it hasn't been 70 in Phoenix for the past few weeks.

At this time of year there may well be snow and or ice on the upper elevations of Mt. Lemon highway - just search the victory rider who found that out the hard way - clear roads but lots of shady areas than can and will have black ice.

Sonoita highway is good as is a ride out to and up Kitt Peak obseratory but again, beware of the potential for ice, its not as high as Mt. Lemon but is around 6500fit so beware. Old Spanish Trail from Wast Tucson is nice too.

Shoot me a PM when your heading to the Sedona area, if I'm around we can take a ride to Jerome, maybe some of my buds will tag along. You should check out Jerome either way.

Yes, Jerome is a really cool town. I haven't been up there for a couple of years myself. Maybe when it warms up.

I live in Prescott and ride to Jerome a couple times a week weather permitting. I'm in Texas right now but will be back probably sometime next week. Always willing to ride.

Wanna be able to say you rode your harley in Bagdad? Easy way to win a bar bet is to take a pic of your bike in front of the town sign of Bagdad, Arizona as proof.

If you make it to Prescott then 64 miles West is Bagdad, AZ. It is a company owned copper mining town. The road is a nice twisty and smoothly paved road for a easy cruise.

Just checked Bagdad on the map. I'll have to ride there just so I can say I rode "Old Dick Road" It would be an appropriate ride for me

A lot of input from the Arizona riders. Brings back memories of when I was in Sierra Vista for 6 months in 2010 doing work at the base. I put over 14K miles riding then along with an Iron Butt ride.
