Default Adding padding to a half helmet

Would seem I have a weird sized head because no matter which half helmet I try it's either to tight or to loose. Vega, Outlaw, Daytona, etc' I'm always in between sizes. So I've stuck with an Outlaw helmet in the larger size and been tightening up the strap.

Instead of doing that, I've been looking for a way to add additional padding to snug it up a little. Haven't been able to find a way to do that though when searching online. Has anyone done this. If so, what did you use and how did you do it?

Thanks.

Put a plastic bag on your head.
Buy some expanding foam insulation.
Squirt some into your helmet
Slam the helmet on your head and hold it tight.
When it stops expanding take the helmet off and trim all the excess foam off and your done.

This sounds just crazy enough to work!

Although...doing this "expando-foam" method pretty much takes the DOT certification and throws it out the door...

It's the sticker that counts.
That expanding foam idea should work; we used to do it with ski boots. Just remember not to seal the plastic bag around your head.

You are already riding with reduced protection by wearing only a half helmet so who cares?

buy your helmets a little snug and use a ball peen hammer to compact the tight spots in the foam.

Dan is right! With all the hits I've taken' my head is a little irregular [have fun w/dat] and I've used Dans suggestion to make helmets more comfortable.
