Default How in the world?

How can many of you guy's up north keep covers on your bike when stored in your garage - Here in CA most of us ride year around but even if I had to park my bike for the winter I wouldn't cover it up. I'm in my garage working a lot - I love seeing the bike - I keep it dusted off - I just don't know how you guys can shove your scooter in a corner & hide it - it's a thing of beauty - something if your not riding you can still enjoy just by looking at it - I carry a 3/4 cover for mine when on a road trip - thats the only time it gets used -Tom

I'm in Texas and it does get cold enough for me not to ride and I cover my bike and will, even in warm weather. Why? Because I'm hoping it'll help keep the dirt/dust off of it. Plus I only have a carport and it helps keep prying eyes from seeing it.

Mine is in a lean-to in the back yard, not covered and 3' of snow on the ground.

Not so far north, but I keep mine covered with a lightbulb burning inside the cover. We get wild swings of temps, so the bike can get cold soaked in the garage, then get a couple of half warm humid days and condensation drips off the bike. Light keeps the condensation out.

If you got a car port or it set's outside I can under a cover - matter of fact i get upset when I see a bike parked outside all the time without a cover - the sun is just fading & rotting everything - but when you keep it in a garage it's a different deal to me - You don't see folks who pay 30 grand for a oil painting - hang it on the wall & then cover it up

I keep mine covered with two California King flannel flat sheets when I'm not working on it. I have a heated garage that cars also come in and out of all winter. I have to sweep out the road crap that drops off the cars over night at least once a week and I also mop the floor on Saturday mornings. The flannel cover keeps the dust off the bike.

Probably depends on the garage. I have two, and one was built mostly to put my boat in and it is not sealed very well. Vehicles inside will get dusty after a while. My other garage is sealed very well, and I don't cover anything in it.

Mine's in a detached garage so I don't see it a lot in the winter. There's a bunch of walnut planking stored above it which has a lot of powder post beetles. So I use a cotton HD cover (which came with the bike) to keep the beetle crap off it.
