OR, has anyone ever had an upholstery shop strip the skin off the seat and shave the pad? I wonder if that could work.
I've had a guy on Ebay send me a Corbin or LePera seat that is already a lot thinner, with a more solid pan and better quality cover than the one from harley. Probably a lot cheaper (my seats have all cost me $25 to $150).
Otherwise, I'd get a different windshield. A lower one might let you rotate the bars forward more.
Also, that's a good looking bike - I really like the tank paint/logo.
you really need different bars.... with no pullback
I'm tryin' to avoid getting shanked by my wife if at all possible. Bars are a 4-6 hour job on labor plus the bar itself (which may or may not require powder coating) so I'm lookin' for lower cost alternatives.
Jar head you gotta loose the windshield. Take it off, move the bars and see how it feels. Then figure out WTF to do for a windshield.
You Marines always do it the hard way.

I know and I will. But for now with the cooler weather (at night especially) that windshield cuts down the chill. And since I only have an open face right now it comes in handy.
I still wouldn't mind backing up from the bars though as this would also allow a little leg room as well.
Also, your to big for that bike as she sits. You need a lower seat to move you back, but you'll loose some comfort. Also some Hyway foot pegs so you can stretch out. That's why I use a solo seat (Mama don't ride), it moves me back.

I too pushed the bars all the way forward but the factory mini apes are not only turned back but bent down, very uncomfortable. I ordered new bars and they should be getting installed tomorrow so we'll se how that goes. I already added the tallboy seat which moved me back an inch and up two...
Looks like the HD Tallboy seat would definitely move you back, but also up. You're sitting pretty tall already. A solo seat like a C&C would help, then you can throw on the stocker when momma wants a ride.
I'd save your pennies for new bars though...
