I love my apes. I have ridden long rides without a problem. Someone asked me this last night. It takes a little to get used to them, but they are great. Mine are 16" as well. A friend doesn't think I would be able to pass the dmv test with them on, sone day soon I'll go find out. I do already have my license and have had it for a long time, I jsut want to prove to him that I can maneuver just as well as him with regular bars...
I loved my apes on my old Dyna. I'll get a set of 16" as soon as I'm done with some engine mods on my 05 WG (Probably next spring). I have a friend that is 5'9 and he hated the apes because he thought the were uncomfortbale, I'm 6'3.
I don't know, I rode one bike with Apes and really didn't care for them. The bike didn't seem to handle like it normally does with "regular" handle bars. It could just be or it could be that it takes some getting used to.
The first time I had to turn and the first decent curve in the road and I could really tell the difference. It didn't seem like I had as complete control as I do on my bike.
I do like the way they make some of the bikes look.
