Since you haven't gotten a straight answer yet, I will go on record as a professional with many years and miles of experience, and say without reservation that in fact, putting oil in your motorcycle greatly enhances your riding, and is highly recommended.

February 5th and I think this is the first oil thread this winter. That's progress. I have never put 75,000 miles on a Harley so I can't answer.

I like a nice coconut oil personally. Makes a great lube and leaves my dipstick smelling like those 19 year old life gaurds at the beach

Can say for certain there are a lot of opinions on this subject.
My choice for lubricants in everything we own has been synthetics since the 70's.The last 15 yrs Amsoil in everything except antique tractors.
Oil change interval in daily drivers and motorcycles is once a year
Oil change interval in lawn and garden equipment every two years.

Why use fake oil and not the real thing? I had a synthetic girlfriend once but all her air ran out...

As long as you change it...75000 miles here and i have used , M1 vtwin, M1 15w40, napa 15w50, Syn 3, Valvoline 20w50... I don't worry about it too much...I buy what is on sale at the time....When you use Syn oil and change it at about 5000 miles it's only gone about half its life anyway so i figure i am treating my motor with class...
