Show bike are cool and neat to look at. Bikes that blast past you on the highway are my thing.
Same here.
I appreciate the time and effort folks put into show bikes, but polish and shine will never compare to riding.
I do lots of touring. My friends with bling bikes worry about their rides at motels and don't sleep well. My bike is always safe parked next to theirs!
I'm not into showing but i know a couple of friends who do have show bikes. The main thing you want to concentrate on is getting the bike clean. I'm not talking your normal wash and wax. I mean every little nook and cranny needs to be spotless.
Thinking about entering to support the show and effort the organisers put into it.
Not worried about winning or not, dont want to be out of place amoungst alot of trailer queens either.
Show bike are cool and neat to look at. Bikes that blast past you on the highway are my thing. They can be pretty and clean or dirty and mean. I'm impressed when they are on the road runnin' with asses in the seat. If I was a judge and there were $100,000 show bikes trailered in it would only take one person to roll up on his daily rider and they would get my vote hands down. My life is to short not to enjoy twistin' the wick.
i dont get it...i show my bike and ride the **** out of it. just takes a couple hours prior to the show.
i do understand the trailer queen mentality, but you CAN ride a show bike
That is a very clean good looking bike. By clean I mean, sharp, elegant, not overdone.
I would think it would do very well in stock custom catagories in shows. But know this about bike shows, do it for fun. Don't go in there and upset because the bike did not do well. Some shows you'll do great in, others you won't.
My customers have been showing their bikes for years and its great when you win, but many get upset when they don't. So many factors affect judging. One time I judged a bike show and while there was plenty of nice paint, I picked a black panhead. It was just so clean looking, great lines, attention to detail. And everyone was surprised a custom painter picked a bike without custom paint, but I love panheads.
I'm going to try and make it to a show or two this summer. The first year I had it my friend was urging me to enter it at the show at his bar and I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Not because of the simplicity of the mods, but I just bought the bike and everything on it was the PO's. After changing it up and getting it closer to the vision I have for it, I'm ready to show it off as mine.

Have fun. Nice getting feedback from strangers that they like what you've done to your bike.
I've had friends, family and strangers say I should show mine.
I have no desire to have it formally judged. I love it and that's all that really matters anyway.
