Snowing, finally, here today and into tomorrow. May get four to eight inches before it's over. Gonna build a snowman with the grandson. Winter aint so bad here. I was riding yesterday.
I couldn't take the northern cold & winter gloom anymore & moved here. I dunno how you guys do it.
Oh so true with regards to how they all still hang in there.
There are many reasons why most just can't get up an move just because the weather is nicer somewhere else. Been there done that with living in Maine for 30+ years. My Southern gene pool was miserable for many of those years waiting for warmer days which were far and few in Maine IMHO.
Made some BIG SACRIFICES to be here believe me. No free lunch and no free rides as they say.
I am starting to get tired of the winters now.
Maybe southward bound isn't that bad.
The hardships of winter are much easier to deal with ya younger and can take the hard-knocks that Ole Man Winter dishes out but as time marches on it does wear on ya. For some die hards it doesn't bother them. I do admire the ones who just brush the snow off an think nothing of it.

Snow boarding, skiing, snowmobiling. There is stuff to do. When riding season comes around, you just appreciate it that much more.
When riding season starts your so excited you wave with the big Heil Hitler, and as you approach the end of riding season you use the small Heil Hitler wave
Besides I wouldn't want to give up the beautiful scenery here with mountains, and twisty roads. Sometimes the trade off is worth the short riding season.
Truth be told though I wish it was Summer right now. I can't wait to get out riding.
