My guess is that HD will go with liquid cooled heads like BMW has done with the R1200GS, and that the appearance of the bikes will not be drastically altered.....
BMW's new R1200GS is not just liquid cooled heads, it's a completely new motor, transmission, drive, body and frame. It'll be interesting to see if HD does this.
this very plainly states that the road glide will be coming back. unlike the dealer's response in the op that it was gone forever. will be interesting to see how it comes back, and what 'substantial design changes' it undergoes.

They can put in one large headlight instead of the Honda-Looking double-lights.
changing the front fairing to a single headlight would be the single worst mistake that hd could make with the fairing. you think it's ugly with two headlights? one is grotesque. i dunno about you, but i have no problem distinguishing a roadglide from a honda/bmw. do you have trouble telling a sportster apart from a honda shadow as well?
Interesting indeed.
A newer, better Road Glide coming in 2015.
I thought they were the most awesome bike in the lineup already, from what I heard.
Guess that was all baloney.

You're right, and I read that in one of my BMW mags but the only new Beemers that interest me now are the 800s so I didn't really dwell on the R1200GS's changes.
