Last year on our way back from the ROT rally in Austin, one of my riding bud's bike (Covington bobber) finally gave out. It had given him trouble all week and fianally gave uout just outside of Austin.
That was you guys? Being from Austin, word at the Central Texas Harley shop was buzzin' about the two 'guys' riding two-up and heading north on I35. It's a small world ain't it?
I am sure there was a lot of talk. We took off 35 and got over to 281 just to avoid some traffic. When we would come up on some riders, he would start begging me to slow down as not to pass them. But of course the nice friend I am, passed them all waving. When we pulled into Lampassas, he wanted to stop at a store and get a poster board to make a sign. "MY BIKE BROKE"

UM,......NO. Aftere some thought, just NO. Some things should just never happen, and I think this is one of them. Wait, maybe if your buddy dressed up like a policeman or a construction worker, and you were going to a halloween party as the Village people.... But, even then, still...No.
RE: When is it o.k. for two guys to ride the same bike?
Okay, I'll risk getting flamed. When we were kids in the Navy in the 60's and early 70'smost of us couldn't afford any form of transportation. Some of the guys in our division had been in longer and had bikes. We rode two up all over the San Diego area and to Riverside and never thought anything about it. Most of the places we went were too far away to walk and we didn't have money for cab fare. But, it was California, wasn't it?
