Same here. Between the salt and wind I sat in the garage cleaning chrome and eating chocolate bunny.
ROFL..pretty much the same thing once all visiting family left. Went into the garage, sat on bike (...sad isn't it?) and played with the new stereo system I just put in.
...and yes even made some vrroom vroom noises.....
I would call you crazy except I was doing the same on Saturday! Had to dress warm and watch out for SAND...but it was awesome! Me and a buddy went out for a short scoot at noon and I got back at 5...to the same evil eye from my wonderful wife, who knows I'm full of it when I say I'm going for a short ride...LOL. Getting ready to hit Laconia first, then Atlanticade in PEI, Canada. Can't wait. Stay warm!
After riding in Oklahoma during the cold and bad weather last week, I noted that cold it tough but doable. I bundled up (being from FL don't have heated gear) and wore layers. I rode for hours at 39* and for about an hour home on last Monday evening at 29* My hands got very, very cold despite some warm gloves, but I was able to ride about 30 miles and made it to the warm house.
It is not ideal, but I only had a bike and rode every day for a couple hours. If you don't have good cover and gears you would be in trouble, but if so it is rough but doable.
you go! best wishes to you in your ride (I rode in 60 degree weather one december morning w/ fingerless gloves and my fingers were numb after 5 minutes...lol....)....shame on me...what do we know about braving the cold winter weather here in hawaii....lol....
k.
Here in indiana we leave the leathers at home and ride with a t-shirt on a 60 degree day.
We need to go visit my parents, my mother-in-law, and my grandmother for easter. It's going to be about 50 miles each way and the high for today is supposed to be 49. We are bundling up and taking the bike, the only chance we are going to have to ride for the next few weeks, so thought what the heck.
Someone please send sunshine and warmth to the midwest, this is getting old.
After riding all winter, 49 seems quite comfortable, and upper 60's (this past weekend) is short sleeve shirt weather!
Icy roads, single digit nights and still getting to the negative side of the thermometer from time to time. It is starting to melt finally, now need them to sweep all of the rock off the road....They use gravel here in AK and a lot of it.
