Burnt out the headlight bulb on my WG at 87,000 miles - still had high beam. Replaced the 2nd one at 125K. Brake light burnt out at about 100K, those are the only bulbs I've had to replace so far.

If a headlight burns out just put on the hi beams...chances are the second filament is fine.

Changing vehicle lights yearly is a little excessive, I change them when they stop working.

Thanks guys. I think I'll buy a spare to keep on hand and replace when needed.

I've had turn signal lamps go out several times (just changed one) but I honestly don't remember ever having a headlight fail -- and they lasted a whole more than 4K miles(!)

I've owned several jap bikes and three Harleys over the years, only ever had one bulb burnout. Front turn signal on a brand new Heritage Softail - 7 months old. Go figure...

Change it when it burned out. In 5 years that's been like 3 times, but always carry a spare.
Just upgraded to LED so that sucker better last a long time for what they cost. With the LED headlamp and passing lights those suckers are bright at night.
