Default Riding into a 20 mph headwind

I just rode from the Harley shop after picking up some new goggles to home into a big headwind. It was a 10 minute ride and I'm amazed at how hard it was to keep from feeling like I was going to be blown out of the seat. WOW!

After a 60 mile trip I made a in the wind a few weeks ago, I now give a lot more consideration to wind than cold or rain.
I was on the Frwy at 65-70with a 30 to 35 mph head wind. I did enjoy the trip back.

I just unfurl the sails, and save on fuel.

headwinds and tailwinds don't bother me near as much as gusty cross winds..

someone said its only windy twice a year in Oklahoma...six months from the south...six months from the north.

Boy, you're not joking. This past weekend (Saturday), I rode upwards of 450+ miles or so. The crosswinds were brutal. And at times they seemingly came out of nowhere to literally 'slap' you sideways. I'd find myself riding in normal conditions and all of a sudden, "Bam", I'd find myself having to counterbalance and offset just to keep the bike on the straight and narrow. At some points, it was kind of unsettling. You almost feel 'beaten up' after riding through that for any extended period of time.

Crosswinds are one of the downsides of riding with a windshield. The colder it gets, however, that downside is a small price to pay when you're riding.

I'm sitting at home about to leave for work and I can hear those winds whipping up against the garage door.

Oh well, it's too nice out to not ride just because of the wind.

Crosswinds are wild. I unexpectedly changed lanes once because I couldn't compensate fast enough. I really enjoy riding leaned over for extended periods when the crosswinds are constant. It's when they stop suddenly that makes it scary.

Think of the fun that ride would be with ape hangers or on a V-ROD. Not.

It's in those head wind situations where you can appreciate the frame-mounted fairing of a Road Glide.

You got that right about the Roadglide.
