So I just bought the le pera bare bones solo seat. It looks great on my FXD. But, I really regretted it half way into the first leg of my 100 mi trip on the so cal slab. Any other solo seats that look as good - but are a bit more comfortable?

I have both the bare bones and the mustang vintage (not wide) . And the vintage is a 100x more comfortable but not near as good looking. Anything over 100 miles kills with the bare bones. But I gotta say. The vintage is a nice seat.

You can have both seats. One for your local runs and one for long rides.

That's why I'm askin. I am fine with the bare bones locally - I dig the way it looks. I Just want something better looking and more comfortable than the HD seat, for longer runs.

Never could understand why people pay high dollar for something that just looks good. My short rides are usually at least 200 miles. Yesterday was the exception and the shortest ride I have been on in the longest time at about 80 or 90 miles. No worries as my Mustang solo wide touring keeps me comfy no matter what.

I put a danny gray seat with saddle gel on my rocker and have never thought of my butt again!!! Don't get one without saddle gel...you will hate yourself, my brother did and he's hates himself for skimping on 75 bucks!!!! Now he has to get gel added. These seats look good too. Try sterling seats on ebay/good prices.

You could try one of those Airhawk seat pads. You can use it for longer rides and leave it off on smaller distance rides or around town. I had a seat made from Sick Saddles (a forum sponsor) with the memory foam and it's great. Looks good and is comfortable to boot.
