Debating on pulling the trigger on a custom wheel for the front of my StreetGlide. Looking at a wheel I like from Renegade Wheels with matching dual rotors.
Have a good price from them and want to make the deal but have some questions.
1) Renegade's warranty on their chrome wheels is 2 years.....is this an industry standard or do other wheel manufacturers offer better (longer) warranties?
2) For those of you who have made this purchase....did you also pop for the rear wheel? I can hardly see my rear wheel now.
Finally, anyone out there have bad experiences with Renegade and should I avoid them?
RC Components has a lifetime chrome warranty, we offer a 5 year chrome warranty on our HogPro brand. Pm has a lifetime I believe as well. Most often, there are not issues with chrome, but every once in a while a bad batch of chroming is done. Any reputable manufacturer will catch this before it gets though to the customer.
Assuming you take good care of your wheels and keep them clean and contaminant free the chrome should last a life time. Factors that can cause chrome to pit include salt ont eh road, salt air, etc. I live near the ocean and if I do not wipe my chrome down regularly it will pit in a month or so.
I like to put a few coats of wax on new wheels when I get them, wipe them down weekly, and wash them with mild soap and water and rewax monthly as I ride daily. A little preventative maintenance will go a long way.
