I have a 71 Superglide in parts. I have the service manual. I have never put a motorcycle together. I have no idea where to start. The engine and transmission are on the frame. Any suggestions?

Call a friend that has done it before and offer food, money, beer and your wife. Not necessarily in that order.

None that you want to hear. Not trying to sound like a dick, but you're gonna have your hands full

Yep you got a hand full of work to do. I would start buy cleaning and repainting/powder coating parts that need it before you start putting it back together. Go slow get some help. Mechanical stuff first then on to wiring and painting the tins last. Oh and before anything I would at least check to see if the engine will even turn over. You don't want to start with a seized engine or trans.

Sounds like time for some cool beers and music in the garage. Like I said take your time and do it right. When your done you will be proud of your ride and know it inside and out. Hands on is the best learning tool you can get.

Best advice yet. You also want to make sure you have a clean title. No sense in putting something together you aren't going to be able to ride.

Thanks. I have a clean title. I am the 4th owner. It's intimidating and a bit overwhelming but I'm determined.
