Jesus...I had it, installed it and couldn't believe how god damn ugly it was. It had a huge pad, it stuck up high with a steel bar visible. I thi k it was ascetically horrendous.

I returned it and bought the screaming eagle CVO pad for street glides. It's a smaller pad, looks great, somewhat adjustable by way of the mount itself under the seat. Fits great, feels great and don't look like I have this monstrosity. Jmo.

I love mine for all the reasons stated. I also have found that backing up is easier as I can lean in to it for some leverage when needed. I have given up on what looks pretty or not.....if its functional than its going to be used. I sometimes just leave the setting where its at for weeks. Then there are those rides when I just move it around to change my comfort level.

I agree . I did not like how it looked and the support it gave stock with the street glide seat. Cut and sectioned it with a band saw and mig'd back together. Sits flush with the seat, looks right and works perfect for supporting my lower back.

Bought the cheap (the one without the remote adjustment) for my RK. I already had the Hammock seat. The backrest was awful. Jammed me forward and lasted about 25 miles before I unplugged it from the mount and threw it in the saddlebag. Took it back to the dealer, bit the bullet, and bought the high-end model. Now....how did I ride without this ? I agree with what others have said........adjust on the fly is a plus, and it leans back more than enough. It's plenty pricey, but worth every cent to me.

One of the best things for me is that the adjustable backrest has a very small bit of give due to it being adjusted via a gas piston. Adds a measure of comfort even though the movement is almost imperceptible. A rock hard backrest can make your upper back sore because because there's no flex in your lower spine.

I've had both.

Get the adjustable one. You can't see how it looks when you're riding the bike,.

But if you want to admire your bike while it's parked, I guess comfort while riding it is secondary.

I have the adjustable and I really like it. Change it a little at gas stops and for me that works great. When I am tired and hit the top of it with my leg it gives a little. I feel it was worth the difference in price.

Yeah.....they make it seem like you're getting the whole enchilada when you read the backrest description. You're not. You need the part # you listed for the adjustable unit itself. Then you select a backrest pad such as the "Comfort Stitch" 52423-09A which is what I had. All told it's about $300. Check here for decent prices - http://www.kutterharleyonline.com/

Like another, I sold mine off and bought a Mustang Supertouring with integral backrest. It looks much nicer imo, but it's not as easily adjustable on the fly. I do miss that ease of adjustability.

just put one on my King. Set my kickstand up on a 2x4 so I could get the feel of ''going down the road''...I almost fell asleep. Looks a little ugly do to the height, but I am looking for comfort 1st, if I go and put her in a bike show...I'll just remove it.
