Foxcreek leather for me next time..have a hard time spending 500 bucks on Chinese jacket even if it is a Harley one. TxFxstrider is right though if you like it buy it and enjoy the Sturgis trip, maybe I'll see you there.

I have no experience with this particular model jacket but I have ridden with every brand mentioned as well as with several Harley jackets and my opinion is that the Harley jackets are as good as any for motorcycle riding.

If you like it, buy it and enjoy your trip to Sturgis.
Here's a link to the coat http://thehouseofharley.com/Men-s-Vi...98063-13vm.htm Looks pretty cool. Have fun in Sturgis!

For $80 more he could have the real deal, and add his own patch. http://www.hillsideusa.com/Men-s-Mot...ackets-s/3.htm

I prefer, and I own the Fox Creek Leather version of this jacket. "Classic Motorcycle Jacket" I am extremely pleased with their quality and absolutely a loyal customer based on their service. A tough combination to beat. Langlitz might be better, but at 3X the price they have the financial room to be.

If it fits well and you like it buy it. I try to buy American if possible. If you don't NEED the jacket to get to sturgis, you might want to wait until you get there to buy one. I bought a very nice hand made Jacket in sturgis in 2000 for under 300 bucks. Still wearing it!

OP mentions it's made in China (inferring that country of origin is a factor) and asked for opinions so it's fair game.

I'm with the buy USA (or don't buy Chinese anyway) crowd and especially like the jackets Ron750 linked. Nice stuff. Buy that and wear a Harley hat if you want people to know you're in the club.

I'd like to have something to remember me the event and this special year.
Thanks in advance.
Fredotto,

I do not have experience with that specific jacket.

However, on another site I frequent some members have purchased the Harley CVO Screaming Eagle Jacket from the China Vendor. The results varied. One member got the EXACT same thing sold in the dealership. It matched seam for seam, stitch for stich, color for color, label for label. Another person got the same one but the quality was noticably lower. They both came from the same manufacturer, however the second one was what is called a "Blem", for blemished item, and would probably not make it for sale at the dealerships.

One thing I would consider, you are in Milan, the fashion and fabric capitol of the world. I am quite sure you can find a leather craftsman to tailor make for your whatever you want. You will be able to pick your hide, stitching, design, padding, insulation, armor, zippers and hardware, everything. I have two tailor made jackets by Bates Leather, and there is nothing like the fit and feel of wearing tailormade clothing.

I will be in Milan in early August, probably about the same time you will be in the USA on your adventure. It would have been nice to meet.

Please take lots of photos of your trip and post them.

Ciao!

Thank you for all your advice. Of course I can buy a good jacket here in Italy but I was dreaming of an "original" HD Jacket. Usually they are good products. I'm going to buy it during my travel to Sturgis for two reasons: first I'd like to have it as a souvenir of a special trip in a special place in a special year (my 50), second than I can buy it for a little more than 300€ instead of more than 500€ (italian price).
I found wonderful people from Black Hill HD dealer to help me with my dream.

Good for you! Buy the jacket you want. I wish I owned one of those jackets so I could tell you more about it. I think it's a great style and actually plan on getting one myself. If you have yours already maybe YOU can tell ME something about it?

I own a Fox Creek leather jacket and they are great. I also own an ICON naked leather jacket which is my first riding jacket and so far is my favorite. Ignore all this "made in America/made in China" talk. When I compare my Fox Creek (made in America) to any of the other jackets I own (made in other parts of the world) I find little to no difference in quality. In fact, I even dare say that my Fox Creek jacket leaves a little to be desired in the finish and design. For example, the liner is made of great material but seems poorly designed and has some armature looking stitching. It has no elastic cuffs on the sleeves to seal out the wind and when you remove it from the jacket, the zipper pull stays in the jacket which is already kind of bulky on the front. The Fox Creek liner also uses buttons that you have to feed through a loop to fasten the sleeves. They are a pain to get on and off. My ICON jacket's liner has elastic cuffs which seal the sleeves up, uses snaps instead of buttons for the sleeves and has snaps at the armpit as well to better secure the fit of the sleeve, and the zipper pull stays on the liner and not in the jacket when it is removed. Also, my ICON came with back, shoulder and elbow armor at no additional charge and it was still about $100 less than the Fox Creek.

Just get what you like. Especially if you can get it for a better price than you might be able to in your corner of the world.

I own HD AND Fox Creek JACKETS. The HD is no way equal to the FC.
