ignition switch cover

I have a 2013 Heritage. While on our 1,000 miles trip the last couple of days, my ignition switch cover quite working. The cover no longer snaps closed to cover the ignition switch. Looks like the little internal spring has sprung. Dealer said simple fix but will have to order a new ignition switch. Of course it's under warranty. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen? I asked the dealer if this was a common problem, they said no, but we replaced a few? Ok, what am I missing there? lol

Mine broke on my ol' '99...

I pulled the pieces out, and it still flips on/off ok. No problems, other than not snapping back. Sucks you can't buy a spring for a perfectly good ignition switch.

Yes,but not to a 2013. Cover spring has broke on my 03 Heritage and my 98 Wideglide. Fix is a new switch keyed to old keys. Fixed both of them because I don't like anything broke and not right. Especially when it is in my line of sight often.
