campground refund?
Bunch of you can say it isn't right nad blah blah blah.
But a reservation was made and then abandoned and the campground could have had it set up for someone that was actually going to stay and pay them.
You actually I would bet haven't a snowballs chance in hell on this and should have looked into it in the first place.

since she had the wrong days down and we went elsewhere the first night we decided to stay there, she had full payment for 4 nights, she didn't offer a refund and we didn't ask for one, not to mention she had the cabin to rent to someone else= double revenue, she should not have charged an extra fee.
That is to me theft of my money and I will explain to her that we didn't ask for any money back so why did she feel the need to charge more money?
its not right, and if it was you I feel fairly confident that you would be wanting some answers also.

If it was just cancelling a reservation that hadn't been paid for yet, then it would be normal.
Guy paid for the cabin. He didn't get a refund--therefore the cabin was technically his for those days and he could have used it, however since he decided not to use it he let the owner know.
Cabin was already paid for.
Due to the area and time of year, owner probably rented it out again.
Owner charged extra fee simply because he let them know that he wasn't going to be using the cabin.
OP could have not told them, let the cabin sit empty for the four days, and been $40 richer. Instead, because the OP has some integrity and let the owner know that he wasn't going to be using the cabin (and to not expect them), the cabin owner possibly got double rent for the 4 days (OP's original payment + rented out again to someone else) plus the $40 cancellation fee.
If the owner had any integrity, they'd have either let the cabin just sit empty for the four days, or refunded the four days minus the cancellation fee.
It was their mistake and they should not expect you to pay for that.

I would be pissed and the way she did it demand a refund of the 4 nights and let her keep the measly $40.00
