Trip to Buffalo
I just got back from a 3 day, 1100 mile trip. I know that is not much for a lot of you guys but for me it was a lot. Was supposed to be more days and more miles but things came up. any way I had a blast. Rode it by myself. Here is a photo of my bike.

I made it from Boston to Buffalo on day one, just about 500 miles. Had to stop and see Ralph Wilson Stadium.

I will tell you something. Those people in Buffalo were the nicest people. When I got to the stadium, the store was closed and I had no where to stay and no idea where I was. The security officer helped me find a hotel in down town Buffalo and gave me his cell phone number in case I got lost. The directions he gave were great. Buffalo was hosting the barr exam for the state of NY and there was hardly a room to be had. I think I got the last one available.
Anyway, I had to start heading home the next day. A situation at home got me started a few days late and I had other things I had to take care of at home so that meant I had to be home in 2 days. I wanted to see the falls before leaving. Here they are:

From there I rode about 350 miles to a little town called Johnstown NY where I spent the night. I jetted the rest of the way home the next day.
I will tell you this. the country side in up state NY is some of the nicest scenery I have seen. Mostly farm land. The people that I talked with were some of the friendliest I have ever met. The road, RTE 90, was well taken care of except it felt like I was going over a frost heave every couple hundred feet. Nothing to big, just annoying. the only complaint that I had were the tolls. I think I spent about $40 in tolls alone, mostly in NY.
I hated that the trip had to end so soon but I did have a great time. Can't wait to hit the open road again on another adventure. Sorry for the long write up

Lot's of folks think NYC when they hear New York.
We have a lot of great country here, as noted the route 20 path is great, lot's of country side, small towns, and great road food spots along the way.
But the Adirondack's and Catskill's regions are equally great, as is the entire Finger Lakes region, and just south of me the riding through the Bethany Hills all the way to Pa. through the Letchworth and Cuba N.Y. area are beautiful.
As are many other regions in the state.
I hate the politics, the taxes, and the length and depth of our snow season, but the countryside, and the regular folks are awesome.
Wanted to add, the bike event at the Glenn Curtiss museum is this week-end. The museum itself is worth the trip alone, but the bike event makes it a don't miss visit.
