I sold a car a few months ago on the internet and received many of these scam emails from abroad. All of which went along the lines of them sending me a thousandpounds or soin excess of the asking price,this is in the form of a bankers cheque. I then wire them the excess, minus a couple of hundred for my troubles. The excess which is wire transfer goes from my account to theirs immediately, the bankers cheque in my account (for the full amount of my car) fails to clear a few days later. Hence they are up ÂŁ700 or so of your money.
I have recieved so many of these when selling on the internet that I actually replied to them stating that all their details had been forwardedto Interpol with an official looking interpol document attached.
Beware also, if you are thinking of leading them on because to send you their bogus cheque they ask for your details,ie name,address, telephone no:etc.
Best just to ignore and delete
