Harley-Davidson stock

Been watching the stock ("HOG") for awhile and finally jumped in. Might be a growth option to consider for your portfolio.

A growth stock at 58? I have my doubts. When it was below 10 in '09 maybe but good luck going up from here at 58.

I was in and out of it several years ago now, did well back then. I would heed Keith's word, at $58 it is only below the 52 week high by $1. I would look at it around $50.

They used to split when they got to around $55. I'm hoping they'll do it again soon. Most of mine came on the IPO day.

i used to do the sharebuilder thing. you set an amount that you wanted to invest, and what companies you wanted to invest in. the good thing is that it was only 4.95 per trade, and you could get fractions of shares. i would up the percentage of my investment in hog in the fall, and throughout the winter when it would typically drop, and then shift it in the spring and summer when riding season came cause it would usually go up then. did this for a couple of years and made about a 23% return. got enough to pay my bike off. unfortunately, last winter it didn't drop as much as it usually did so i didn't invest any this year.

don't let the naysayers get to you. when i sold mine it was around $77. you are just now coming into the time of year when their stock should start dropping again.
