Has anyone else noticed how drivers approaching a stop sign perpendicular to you seem to be flying to it like they didn't plan on stopping and appear to be slamming on their breaks at the last second? I keep thinking they aren't going to make it and get ready to slow down. Am I paranoid? It seems to be happeing more often than in the past. This happens while driving a car too so it can't be just them not seeing me on my Harley.
Also why do people feel the need to stop 2 car lengths back and creep forward during a red light? I mostly don't move forward until the light turns green but by then it looks like I stopped 2 car lenghts too soon. Do you move forward?
I agree on the stop sign........I don't think that those that take that approach are going to stop unless the have to.
As for the light creepers.......I agree and it appears they are trying to sneak up on it. What gets me is that these creepers are normally the last to react to the light changing to green, go figure.
Its all about self importance. I am more important than you. I will always slow down and even move to the center line to let this dimwit see that I will stop if they require me to. I never worry about the creeping creeps at stop lights. Sometimes, in a long line, I maybe 3-4 car lengths behind. Just shows how ignorant people can be, to think they are going to get somewhere faster than you.
Last week a guy came to a state highway stop sign (in the country). He never stopped just looked to the lift and turned right (tall corn on all corners) . Problem was a truck was passing a slower car .
The driver of the truck told the cops the driver in the car was looking down at his phone . The driver in the car never seen the truck that killed him .
Got a 3-way stop at the end of my street where it dead-ends into another side street. The corner even has a flashing red light for all directions. Still cars on the other street routinely run the stop sign & light, or get pissed if you pull up to the stop sign on my road and they are "forced" to stop.
I'm convinced that someday, somebody is going to get killed at this corner. I have 2 kids/ young drivers and I warn them everytime we're at this corner.
Yes, too many distractions, people in a big hurry and feel they are "special". And I live in a nice suburban area, not in the thick of ATL.
