Default GPS question

I don't normally use a GPS when on a road trip because I can't hear it and I don't want to be looking at the road and the screen to find my way around. Bit of a recipe for a disaster methinks. But I sure could use one if I'm in a strange city looking for a dealership, motel or a place to eat. I've got a Nuvi for the cage but I can't hear it on the bike. Ideally what I'd like is a unit with bluetooth or an earplug. I'd leave it in my pocket and just listen for the nice lady to tell me where to turn. Other than the $$$ Zumo $$$ is there anything like that on the market???

Smart Phone would fit this criteria. I also dont find taking a glance at the GPS that distracting, granted I dont stare at it.

The new TomTom RIDER is a motorcycle specific GPS that has Bluetooth and retails for $399 and is sold through Amazon.

I don't know what you ride...but if your Nuvi has an audio output jack you could either plug it into the aux input on the Harmon Kardon stereo or plug in some earbuds if you don't have the stereo... I use a Nuvi 750 with a built in MP3 player and can also hear the turn by turn directions thru the stereo.

Get a used NUVI 855, it has a headphone jack and you can get a 17mm ball mount for your handlebar.

I don't have GPS on my phone but have read about losing phone signal on the road, thus losing GPS signal.
