Be patient. It will either cancel or they will eventually turn again.

Best advice yet. Drove my cowboy cadillac to work today. Guy on bike pulled out in front of me going same direction. Left signal on. Apperantly not self canceling as he rode about a mile with it on until he snapped and canceled it. At the light he turned it on again to turn left. Then it stayed on for another mile until he had to turn right. Greenhorn. Rookie. Let em learn. Never knew of a secret signal to let em know they are turning and they did not know it.

Or someone will turn in front of them because they think the rider with a signal on is turning as well.

But either way, it'll go off.

Lets see if this link works:

There ya go. The link should show a pic of the "Blinker On" hand signal I was taught back in the early 70s.

I could of got the dumb bastard remark the other day. I stopped at the coffee shop when another Harley guy walked in and said "who's got the bike" not only did I leave the headlight on, the turn signal was on too. WTF was I thinking????

Rider Coaches use a signal that is an open palm, fingers spread...then a fist...then open palm, fingers spread. Repeat. Kind of looks like a blinking light, if you use a lot of imagination. However, the last time I used it on a fellow rider, he thought I was waving. Kept driving on the highway with his signal on. Not on a Harley, though.
