We've all done it. The morning was sunny and crisp. We head out, by ourselves, with the wives blessing (she was going out shopping with the girls). We catch a long, 2 lane road heading out of town with nobody in sight. Just my ride and me for as long as we want to go.....
Youcheck the gas gauge, the odometer and settle in to the groove of doing whatyou dobest - ride. And then you look again at the mileage and, lo and behold, you are astounded you have just covered _____ miles!
Just curious as to how far you might have gone in a trance...
Not sure of the mileage but I went out for a short ride in some really nice weather. Two gas tanks later I made it home. I think it was 300 or so miles.
Went out cruisingone Sunday, and did just a little over 500 miles that day...Have done that a few times.....Didn't realize I rode that far, but enjoyed the hexck out of it.
I would say I did 430 miles. When I filled up for the second time I thought there was something wrong with the bike. It was using to much gas. When I got home I noticed the odometer and was shocked. I couldn't believe I rode that far and again, I thought something was wrong with the bike and I was going to take to the doctor in the morning.
I sat down that evening with the computer and mapped out my route the best I could remember using Streets and Trips and it came up to 430 miles. So there wasn't anything wrong with the bike. Sure didn't seem like I rode that much. Of course it wasn't 430 miles all in one shot. I made various stops and did some sight seeing along the way.
My son, son-in-law and myself left Salt Lake City Utah, headed to Green River Wyoming and then to Boise Idaho. We covered a total of 950 miles in one day. Not bad for a1 day run.
