Talking to a HD engineer at the 110th. They continue to target the baby boomers because they're the largest market segment with money. The touring bikes were designed for the aging riders comfort and desire for gadgets. He let it slip out the automatic transmission with reverse for touring models for 2015 has been delayed due to the cool reception of the liquid cooled models. Interesting stuff. I asked him if he could confirm the discontinuation of Vivid Black on 2015 but he lust smiled.
Automatic Transmissions, Reverse ... What's next Automatic Climate Control and a Blood Pressure Cuff .... I can hardly wait! ... And I agree with "Skratch" ... It would seem that there is an increased interest in the water cooled units ...
No one can keep the liquid cooled models in around here, but that is a small market size for a company that sells in many countries. I am all for reverse.... 900pds and a lot of unfriendly motorcycle lots around here... Dont know if I believe the whole AT thing but its funny we are discussing 2015 in 2013 HA!
from what i've read on this forum and others is that the new models are selling like hotcakes....
I stopped at the local dealer and the next two shipments of bikes they are getting are already sold. They are having problems getting enough bikes to sell, not selling them.

I do believe that a reverse gear is coming, I highly doubt AT is coming. The one over at honda is a dead sell. Never moves & the local dealers can't give them away. Plus unlike water cooling which we all begrudgingly or otherwise knew was coming due to EPA an AT is not a EPA needed item for the brand to live on.
