Yea. You just never know. Comes down to trust. When I bought the psp I did so because it was my first bike and I didnt know what all was involved in maintaining them. So now that I know, I will know for next time. Live and learn. No sweat off my back. I do all the maintenance on my truck so no reason why I cant on the bike. Esp if harley makes a service manual that breaks down the services and what all needs to be done. Only tool ill need is a motorcycle jack and ignition tool.

You can go with out it and do it when you get back. I do my changes every 2500 aswell, but when I am out on a road trip and I go over, I do not worry. A year ago I went from Torreon Mexico to Boston on my 2010 limited. I use mobil 1 or castro syntec so I bought a filter for the ride, had some tools for the change and stopped into a shop just out side of Atlanta and asked the guys at the shop if I could change my oil out back and if they would lend me a pan, I got the Yankee razzing for a bit, but they gave me what I needed. They charged me ten bucks for taking the old oil and I was on my way. easy peazy Japanezzey.
If you want to change your own fluids on a trip, there are always local shops that will help you out. Just have to be nice and ask. I will never pay a dealership to do my oil. RIde safe enjoy you trip and have fun.
