I use the XM Weather Radar overlay on my Zumo 665. Excellent radar display.
Note - I had XM radio coverage (and was listening to programs) up in British Columbia, but NO radar screen on my Alaska trip.
I also use the iPhone radar app.

If you're looking for a free radar app for iPhone then I would say that MyRadar is the best for basic radar. Other free apps like TWC and others are also good for basic radar (where is the rain), forecasts, etc.
However, if you're like myself and you don't mind paying a little money, and you want to not only see where the rain is and how hard the rain is, and you want to see other things like where hail is in a storm and rainfall totals among many other features then I would recommend an app like Radarscope. It's the only app I use when I want to see what's on radar in an in depth way.
I can't speak for things like Sirius or getting weather data through gps as I've never used anything like that.

Izzo I would think the OP is looking for an app that he can track the rain with. That way he would know exactly when to find a bridge to hide under, or when to stop and put on his rain gear.

Gotta agree with Izzo here. I have stayed ahead of, rode into, and away from weather because of the weather band.
