Default Handlebar Laws

Im putting 16" Apes on my Fatboy, and just realized Ill most likely be illegal in my state. In Texas the law is 15" above the seat, so is Lousiana. Im stationed in LA but registered in TX. I was looking at Wisconsin laws and theres is a whopping 30" above the seat!! I guess being the home or Harley you gotta be leniant.

I would think the maximum would be so that you don't have to be standing on the bike to reach them.

That "above the seat" crap is F'd up! Christ look at any bike with drag bars and they will most likely be 15 inches or so above the seat. Are ya'll sure it is above the seat and not total rise from the top clamp or the triple trees?

Can't you tilt the bars down, when you get the bike inspected?

Hey Bryanp could you check on TN, AR and MS for me? Being in Memphis, I'm in those states the most. Or just post the link and I'll check for myself.

Thanks,

Rick
