Default Thinning touch up paint

What do you use to thin out the small bottles of touch up paint you get at the dealers? I bought a really small brush and don't want the paint to blob on.

In the past I always used lacquer thinner. That was some years ago and I don't know if they changed the type of paint, but that worked for me. I know some companies offer a reducer but not sure what it's made of.

Default touch up

Forget the brush and use the end of a toothpick to just fill the cavity.

The container will probably have clean-up instructions on the back, in the fine print. Generally, whatever it says to use to clean, you also use to thin. Chances are, for this kind of paint, it's an oil base or a lacquer. If the former, use paint thinner, if lacquer, use lacquer thinner. If, for some strange reason, it happens to be water-based, use water. I can't imagine auto-grade paint being water-based, though.

I've always used thinner for oil paint and water for latex.
