Good evening my friends. A question about the phenomena of wet sumping. Are all HD motors suseptible to this, and how much oil can accumulate before it becomes apparent that it is actually occuring? Thanks in advance for your replies.
not exactly a phenomena....
it is the failure of a check valve , and the fact that the oil bag is higher than the crankcase...
how much ? until the crank cavity is full ,or the bag is empty.
It's the big reason harley went to oil bag under the tranny instead of up in the frame like the shovels & evo's had , gets the oil lever below the pump & check ball so it doesn't bleed by .
