1. How old "were" you...
2. "My Dad and I.."
Sorry, couldn't resist the grammar correction...old habits. Just kiddin'.
I was 16 and was renting a Honda Cub for $5 a hour because my mother would not allow me to buy a bike. Finally ground her down andbought a Honda 55 Sport for $165. Now have a 2007 Ultra and I don't ask anyone including the wife.
Stay safe and enjoy your time with your Dad!
Started at about 6 on a 90cc three wheeler. Rode "POS" dirtbike when I was 12. First street bike at 14, '78 Yamaha 750. Bought new honda 400ex in 2000. Bought 94 shadow 1100 last year. Bought first Harley week and a half ago, brought home tonight. '06 night train.
1983, I was about 13 years old and rode my Dad's "retired" Kawasaki 90 like it was a dirtbike. But after 17, I didn't ride until I was 23 when I got another Kawi, but 650 ricer that time, then a 750, then my hog (about 10 years ago).
Bought my first street bike in '86 at the ripe old age of 20. Honda Nighthawk 400. Wrecked that... got a Yamaha Seca 750. Smashed that... Nighthawk 750. Destroyed that one too... Finally figured that just because I had free medical, didn't mean I had to use it that often and took the MSF BRC in 1988. Have not had a crash since. Have been thru the BRC three times since then and the advanced RC once.
Take the course. It will save you a lot of pain and heartache. And tickets... and skin... and chrome... and...
I started at 11 with a dirt bike, in iowa you can get a moped permit at 14 so I did, and bought my first harley at 17, now I'm on my 3rd and I'm 18. I think i you just stole mystatus as the youngest member here [sm=icon_beat.gif] [8D]
