And people wring their hands over Indian made Harleys..... MOCO has had imports since after WWII.

My dad had a M65 when I was very young. I think he sold it before I was 5. One of my earliest memories is of him riding around the yard on it. When I was older I asked him what kind of bike it was, I just remember him saying it was a Harley. That might have been part of the reason I had such a strong interest in Harleys. When I was in my 20's and started getting more interested in motorcycles I thought back to that "Harley" my dad had, and wondered what it actually was. I assumed it was probably a Sporty, but it was a M65. Not quite as cool...

I remember in the 70's my cousin had an Indian motocross bike.

I thought that was the coolest bike ever (at the time) it
just cooked my 71 Honda SL100 but was not anywhere close to as durable.
