It was built for the British Army rifle SA-80. Weird lookin' thing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SA80
As I understand it, these things were used mainly for courier and scout work.

SA80 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When the SA80 bullpups replaced the SLR The first versions they got issued were POS.

Old joke was "How do you field strip a bullpup?" then the squaddie would pretend to drop the weapon as the answer

I have one of the American ones - a slightly bigger engine (500ccs) but otherwise the same bike. The Air Force had a few for special ops in the 90s. The Army was going to buy a bunch but then decided they only wanted vehicles that ran on JP8, not gas. So Harley sold off their last ones in 99 and 2000 in dealers.

The case on the back is for the British SA80 series rifle. It won't fit an M16 (the front sight is too big). To my knowledge, they never made a gun case for an American rifle. I know the USAF ones just strapped the M4 carbine across the handlebars.

It's England, they don't need guns. All they need is a whistle and a billy club on a tether to swing around their finger while they ride down the street.

Rotax engines. Very reputable bikes and highly sought after.
