In january i bought myself a New Heritage Classic, Its black and i will post pics as soon as i pick it up or at least can get to the dealer to take some pics. Now that i spent all my money on my bike i still need to get all the essentials like goggles boots leathers and helmets but i dont want to spend $2000 more dollars at the dealership. I think that i will get a leather jacket from the dealership but i think i would like to get better deals on the other stuff, i have been looking at the sponsers stuff and shopping the internet but am kinda worried buying anything online( quality and fit). if anyone has any suggestions oor opinions i would be greatful..
anyone have one of those carbon fiber helmets? and if you like it?
do i reallly need to buy a $200 harley vest?
is there a big difference between the DOT helmets on the internet and the genuine harley helmets? Im lookin for a half helmet and one for the wife too
I wont be picking the bike up for a few weeks but i need to start gathering up all the gear...
thanks for the info
As far as a vest goes, I'm very happy with the inexpensive one I got from carolinaleatherworks.com a few years ago. It's held up extremely well. I think I paid about $40.00 for it.
You can usually find some pretty good deals at www.Leatherup.com. From time to time, you can even find Harley Boots at some really good savings.
As for helmets,DOT is pretty much DOT. It doesn't have to be a 150 dollar Harley helmet to pass the test. I bought one for less than 50 bucks and have had it for over 3 years.
you can get some good deals on the internet, but if it does not fit you have to spend more $$$ shipping it back, if I were you I would wait until you can get to a swap meet or rally. Lots of good stuff that you can try on before you buy it.
