To those of you who wear those shades with amber lenses while riding at night, apart from keeping your eyes dry do they really improve the clarity of vision? i dont really want to shell out hard earned money if they are just a gimmick, cheers.
My yellow lensesseem to make things brighter at night. I don't know the scientific reason for that, and maybe it's just a fig-mint of my imagination. On the other hand, even it just seems to work... that's good enough for me.
I use yellow lenses at night and on dim rainy days. They seem to gather light better than clear lenses. I get my riding glasses from a local industriall safety shop, and they are just wrap around safety glasses. Some shaded and some yellow. Very cheap, very protective, and if you lose them, nothing lost.
I have been using the amber colored glasses for years. I agree with some of the statements about gathering light in dimmer areas as well as in the rain. I prefer them at night because they not only brighten the available light, but they reduce the glare from headlights. Don't spend too much money on them, they are cheap to get. I get mine at a local year round flea market that has a sunglass stand. They have a deal that you can get two pairs of riding glasses for $15.00. I have a pair of Panoptics that were $180.00 and the cheap ones are just as good. If they scratch,i replace them or let someone borrow them and do not worry about getting them back. try a pair and see what you think, just don't spend too much on them!
I can get all the amber lens glasses I need from work,,,, I will NOT,,, repeat,, NOT wear them at night
seem to play tricks with car lights and shadows,,,,, Clear is best,, trust me
specially if your lookin through a windshield
I'll send you a pair if ya wanna try em
