Default Zipper

The zipper on my Harley leather jacket ( worn 10 times) dosnt stay closed. I zip it up...and the zipper separates as soon as I sit on the bike.

Does Harley warranty this?. I didn't buy it from a dealership....bought it online.

Contact the place you purchased it from and ask them. If you have a relationship with a dealership and your on line contact doesn't pan out, you can ask the dealer. Something to be said for buying local, vs. on line.

THAT is why I will not have any more HD junk. I bought a HD jacket years ago and the zipper got stuck. Ended up having it replaced but now wear a Fox Creek jacket. $450.00 piece of junk IMO for the HD. Will eventually end up getting rid of the Harley jacket. Tired of seeing labels made anywhere than USA. See my other posts on how I really feel.....

I had no idea you felt like that. Next thing I know, you'll be touting that everyone should be applying for a CCW and packing! Sheesh!

I had this problem several years ago with a harley jacket. They will send it back for "repair" and it takes forever. When I got mine back, the zipper broke again. After fighting with the dealership, they finally just gave me my money back. It was a hassle though. Good luck.

Now that's funny Jeffrey, but, aren't you being a bit too clairvoyant?

Might be a little quicker and whole lot less aggravating just to take it to the local cleaner/tailor and have the zip replaced. Did that to one of my fav riding jackets (non-HD) some time ago and it's still good today. Hope you get it worked out.

Same reason I got rid of my high dollar leather FXRG jacket. Inexcusably cheap zips.

If you've got a nylon coil zipper, your slider is probably worn, and the coils aren't closing securely.

Get some needle nose pliers, and close the slider opening. Do both sides of the slider, a little bit at a time. If the slider openings are too small, the coil compresses. If the openings are too large, the coils don't securely mesh.

You can look online for some pictures that better describe how to adjust these sliders for better performance.
