Question, I work in the merchant marine so my bike sits for a few weeks at a time, I traded in my '06 RK classic for a '13 street glide this past spring, normally when I left for work I would put stabilizer in the RK's tank to protect against ethanol, I have continued to do this with the new bike and am using Lucas Flex fuel safe guard ethanol fuel conditioner with stabilizers, have not had any problems with the engine, just read in AIM magazine that some additives or stabilizers may not be safe for use with O2 sensors, RK didn't have sensors the SG does, searched the forum for answers didn't find any and Lucas web site didn't offer any info about this, has anyone had a problem with the sensors using this product or any other stabilizer?
My bike has set a total time of 2 full years with Lucas Safeguard in the tank on my last two deployments.
The stuff works great. You can not overdose it so I doubled up the dose. When I got back both times it fired right up. Awesome product. I also use it from time to time just because I can.
Every small engine gets a dose of stabil marine a dose of sea foam and a dose of marvel mystery oil. Been doing it for years no problems mix it up 10 gallons at a time. In the summer I mix 91 octane pump gas 80 to 20 with plane fuel 110 octane.
