I understand you may mis-understand my tone as being rough towards the 1%'ers. I am just roughly expressing my non-understanding of their nature. I put in 50 hours a week at work, ride when I can. I certainly understand brotherhood. A fight I would surely have lost was never fought thanks to my shipmates in 1995. My "brothers" were bigger than me by double, and their size ended the pending fued.

So what happens to me if I suddenly decide I want to go to Beverly's Bar on Congress or R&D Doghouse on Cesar Chavez? I wear a suit to work. Will I be ostrisized and beaten because I am not true 1% material? Will I be allowed to have a beer and return home safely to my awesome friggin' wife (non rider)? Or will I be surrounded and "schooled"?

I like riding with friends. I like riding solo. I like everything around riding. I would hate to think a 1%'er would kick me in the teeth just because.......

First off, you're not the only aroud here that wears a suit and puts in a hard days work. Join the club. Second, provided you didn't go into one of these places 'in your suit lookin' like a dork', absolutely NOTHING would happen to you. Far from it. Walk in, belly on up to the bar, and enjoy yourself. People won't mess with you provided you don't mess with them. Simple as that. You might even find yourself striking up a conversation with a 1% - to an extent - and find them to be okay as far as their respecting you and you likewise. Typically speaking, you'll only run into trouble if you approach a 1% without his first approaching you, you show them disrespect in any way, or if you're grandstanding somehow in the bar. When in a bar and one or a few Outlaw bikers show up, the respect is given by everyone as they typically like to 'hold court' in a manner of speaking. By this I mean that it's their turf, their bar, their rules. Everyone else is solely a 'guest' there at the bar for the time that they are there.

If ever you're of the inclination to head on out to a bike nite at either Beverly's or the R&D, let me know. First round's on me. That is, of course, provided you're not wearing your suit.

Why ask why; it’s obviously not your thing so why worry about it.

Every three months or so we get another 1%’er thread that turns into HDF wrestlemania for who has the biggest e-dick.

By the way, don’t take Wild Hawgs as a documentary and welcome to the forums.

I don't understand what this means.

I do understand that it means "outlaw", or whatever. Why is it so important to be classified as such? It's as if we are in the age of pirates. I have read posts about how a 1% will rip your colors off your jacket, whip your A$$, etc, just to prove their superiority. I recently saw Wild Hogs, so I know it's main stream.

I wear no patches. Not even my HOG patch. Who the F*** cares. Why is it so important?

If I ride West just for the hell of it and stop in at some "bar", and find it is run by an MC, will I be chased out? WTF?

Feel free to flame me. I could give a fuc*.

12 years on a bike and I have never understood.
So you understand it means "outlaw". Do you understand what an outlaw biker is?

It is important to those who choose to live that life for many reasons; the effort required to earn the patch, the brotherhood of their fellow club members, etc. I reckon looking at it another way might explain it a bit - if you struggle through med school, get through your residency, and all that crap, you get to be called a doctor. And most likely, you'll want that recognition; to be called "Doctor." Pretty much the same thing with a 1%er.

The vast majority of the time a 1%er will never cause you a problem. If you go into a bar where they hang, and behave yourself, there likely won't be a problem. If they consider it "their" bar, they'll probably just tell you to move on, or tell you it's a private party. If that happens, just head on out, and that'll be it. If you're in the bar andchoose to get obnoxious, then you'll probably be asked, and asked politely, to leave. If you choose to disregard the request, you'll probably be escorted out, and even that probably won't be any worse than the typical bouncer-related incident. If you push it another step, all bets are off - like as not, someone will educate you.

If you really screw up, and decide you just have to get physical with one, remember there ain't no rules. It'll probably be "all on one" until they decide to toss you into the back alley.

They aren't gonna rip your HOG patch off. Butif you decide to make an *** of yourself, they just might ask you to give it up because they'll feel you're giving your "patch" a bad name.

I'm not sure what prompted your question. It might be a real and sincere desire to know, or you might be an ***. Hopefully it's the former.

I guess the main point is that they live in their world, under their rules, and really don't give a rat's *** about you at all. They don't even think about you until you come into their world. No biggie - give respect and you'll get respect. Come off with an attitude, and they'll respond in kind.
