I know the helmet issue has recently been brought up around here, but I wanted to get some real numbers for a research paper I am working on right now.
The topic of the paper is the importance of helmet use on motorcycles. The purpose of the paper is to pretend that we are a part of a company and are supposed to propose a way to fix a problem that is going on. With the growing number of bikes on the streets there is also a growing number of fatalities caused by motorcycles each year and if everybody would wear helmets the number of fatalities would go down.
The company I chose to be a part of is the MSF and I am going to propose that they start stressing the importants of wearing a helmet while riding more than they already do.
I appreciate all of your votes and whatever else you have to say that could help.

RE: Helmet Use Survey
I voted #3 (only on occasion) only because I wear a skid lid in my home state but don't when I'm in a state that doesn't require it. Maybe you need another selection to reflect this response.
I voted on occasion simply because on every one of these there is no voting for would I wear one if the state didn't mandate it. The problem with the idea is that helmets don't prevent accidents. In fact I don't see as well when I have the full face on; I usually wear the 3/4, and didn't wear one at all when I wasn't forced to.
I have always felt much safer without a helmet. The reason,I am so much more aware of what is around me,and it is SOOO much more comfortable.A 40+ yrs veteran of biking.
